Jurors questioned for Philly abortion clinic case

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - March 5, 2013

Jury selection is continuing Tuesday and could take several more days.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is charged with killing a woman during a botched abortion and seven babies allegedly born alive.

The 72-year-old Gosnell has pleaded not guilty and says he gave needed medical care to poor, vulnerable women at his corner clinic in West Philadelphia.

About two-thirds of the potential jurors were quickly dismissed Monday, often because they had religious or moral conflicts about abortion or the death penalty, but three women were chosen.

Opening statements are set for March 14.
