3 in custody in Temple students home invasion robbery

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - March 6, 2013

Police confirmed to Action News Wednesday morning that three people have been taken into custody, however, the identities of those individuals have not been released.

The home invasion took place around 7:30 p.m. Monday on the 1800 block of North 18th Street.

Police say one of the victims was returning home when three suspects forced her inside at gunpoint.

The suspects duct taped the hands, mouths, and feet of the student and her three roommates.

The three men went through the house stealing computer equipment, cell phones, credit cards, and cash.

"Obviously, some of these criminals are very desperate, very brazen, and they will force their way inside someone's property point of gun in order to commit their crimes," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

None of the victims was injured.

Temple University sent out an alert to students notifying them about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Central Detective Division Detective Guercio at 215-686-3093.
