Goodwill Outlet offers bargains by the pound

BELLMAWR, New Jersey - April 4, 2013

Goodwill of Southern New Jersey CEO Mark Boyd explains, "This is a brand-new concept for us. What we have here is all the items that didn't sell in our regular 20 Goodwill retail stores What we do is we have our transportation department collect all those items, bring it to this facility here at 330 Benigno Blvd in Bellmawr, New Jersey, and we load them into these blue carts that you see behind me. "We roll them out onto the store floor . These carts only sit out on the store floor for a few hours, people have a chance to pick through and find whatever they want. And then we charge you by the pound."

Shoppers like Joan Manns of Camden, New Jersey, can then load up their carts, and buy whatever they want for $.99 a pound. She picked up a bed rail and Teddy Bear for her three-year-old granddaughter, a cookbook for another granddaughter, along with shoes and jeans.

Even Goodwill Spokesperson Juli Lundberg found a treasure, picking up material to re-cover her kitchen chairs for just $1.98.
