Civil trial in deadly Megabus crash begins

PHILADELPHIA - March 18, 2013

The lawsuit stems from the deadly crash in September 2010 of a double-decker Megabus.

It happened just hours after the bus, carrying 29 people, left Philadelphia.

The driver told police he made a wrong turn and slammed into a bridge in Salina, New York, a suburb of Syracuse.

Two of the four people killed had ties to our area, including 18-year-old Deanna Armstrong of Voorhees, N.J. and 19-year-old Kevin Coffey, a Temple University sophomore from Kansas.

The driver, John Tomaszewski of Yardville, N.J., was found to be at fault and is facing charges.
