Suspect plunges 50 feet onto CSX tracks in Chester

Police say a suspect jumped 50 feet down onto railroad tracks in an attempt to escape officers during an early morning chase in Chester, Delaware County.

Police responded to the report of a stolen vehicle around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday. They located the vehicle southbound on Interstate 95 near Route 322, and that is when the suspect took off, engaging police in a pursuit.

At some point during the chase, the suspect's vehicle left the roadway and crashed on I-95 near Kerlin Street.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and was able to jump 50 feet down onto CSX rail tracks.

Police say he was last seen limping towards Crozer Park.

Emergency rooms in the area are being checked for the suspect, but at last report he has not been found.
