Kornwell Chan, 37, of Dresher, Pennsylvania, admitted to stealing a woman's underwear during a break-in at her Springfield Township, Montgomery County home.
He will spend between 11 1/2 and 23 months in jail. Once he is released Chan will serve 8 years probation.
The District Attorney's office said that Chan struck up a conversation with the woman at a train station in Oreland in October, 2011.
The conversation became "uncomfortable," she said, and she started to walk away. At one point, she says, Chan gave her a handmade Christmas card that included her full name, something she had never told him.
Then, over the 2011 holidays, the victim's home was burglarized.
Springfield Township Police found the only thing taken was the victim's undergarments. But family photos were also placed face down, with the exception of a photo of the victim. That picture was left upright and moved onto the dining room table.
Chan faces 16 to 32 years in prison.
In an unrelated incident, Chan admitted to using a video camera to look up women's skirts at the King of Prussia Mall back in May.
