33-story Allentown skyscraper gets green light

Mayor Ed Pawlowski says the plans for a tower with 200,000 square feet of retail, office and residential space have been submitted by Salisbury Township developer Bruch Loch. The mayor says it looks like an interesting proposal that would be a good addition to the downtown.

It would be the tallest skyscraper in the Lehigh Valley.

Allentown Parking Authority Chairwoman Linda Rosenfield says the authority has given preliminary approval to the $60 million project. It would be a few blocks from the planned 8,500-seat PPL Center, which is slated to host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team starting next year.

The developer did not immediately respond to a message from The Express-Times of Easton.
