2 shot with AK-47 outside North Philadelphia takeout restaurant

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - April 14, 2013

The victims were wounded outside a Chinese takeout restaurant at 7th and Clearfield streets around 11:00 p.m.

23 shell casings, possibly from an AK-47, were found at the scene.

A19-year -old male tells police he was standing on the northeast corner of 7th and Clearfield along with a 22-year-old male around 10:57 p.m. Saturday when another man began shooting at him.

The 19-year-old was shot once in the right elbow and taken to Temple Hospital by where he is listed in stable condition.

A 37-year-old male, who had been standing on the southeast corner of 7th and Clearfield, was shot one time in the groin. He was taken to Temple and is in critical condition.

The 42-year-old owner of the New Hong Kong takeout restaurant was injured when a projectile went through wood panel next to the window, striking the counter glass, and causing glass fragments to graze him on the forehead. He did not require any treatment at the time.

Police are looking at the store's surveillance video in hopes of identifying a suspect.
