Police have charged 27-year-old Sheena Johnson of Trenton with two counts of 2nd degree child endangerment.

Police say two boys between the ages of five and ten years old were living inside a storage unit at the Extra Storage building on the 1400 block of Prospect Street in Ewing Township, New Jersey.

Action News learned that Trenton Police processed Johnson Thursday morning regarding a domestic violence case and for violating a restraining order. She was arrested for allegedly slashing her boyfriend's tires.

During an interview, she told police her two boys were at the storage facility waiting for a school bus.

Trenton and Ewing police both responded to the scene, opened up the unlocked unit , and found the two children inside.

One was sleeping; the other was playing a video game.

The unit does not have heat inside or electricity.

The children did not appear to be injured or malnourished, but police provided them with a meal and took them to Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell to be checked out.

The children were released from the hospital and are in the custody of Division of Youth and Family Services at this time.

It's not clear how long the boys were living there or if they were alone.

Police are continuing the investigation.
