14 hospitalized in BoltBus crash on I-295 in Mercer County

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. - April 20, 2013

It happened around 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the highway in Hamilton Township.

Police say the BoltBus, carrying 50 people from Philadelphia to New York, slid down an embankment.

Fourteen people have been taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Ten people were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and four taken to Helen Fuld Medical Center. No word on the extent of their injuries.

The remaining passengers were placed on another bus to continue thier travel to New York.

In a statement, a BoltBus spokesperson says the company is in the process of refunding all passengers who were onboard.

Officials also say they are working to assist those who were hospitalized with transportation, once they are released.

Motorists should be on alert as traffic is backed up in the area.

Meanwhile police are still not sure what sparked the crash.
