Broad St. Run to honor Boston bombing victims

PHILADELPHIA - April 25, 2013

Organizers are expecting 40,000 runners for the 10-mile race.

Volunteers will be handing out stickers to show support for those in Boston.

Organizers are also encouraging people to donate to the One Fund Boston charity set up to help the attack victims and their families.

On Thursday, corporate sponsor Independence Blue Cross told Action News it expects extra security at the race.

"We've been reassured by Mayor Nutter that every city, state and local law enforcement agency - they're all working together to keep all of the runners safe, and our entire community safe," said a spokesperson.

The Broad Street Run is set for Sunday, May 5th.
