Straw purchaser bought guns for convicted felon, Philadelphia D.A. says

PHILADELPHIA - May 1, 2013

Santore allegedly bought two semi-automatic handguns that ended up in the hands of convicted felons who couldn't legally buy them. One of the weapons has been recovered, the other has not.

The Philadelphia District Attorney says Santore admitted to purchasing the two handguns for a man he would only identify as "Fat Cat."

Prosecutors say Santore lied on the purchase paperwork by stating that he was buying the handguns for himself and that he was not a user of illegal narcotics.

He is facing numerous Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA) charges along with Tampering with Public Records, Unsworn Falsification, and Conspiracy charges.

His bail has been set at $150,000.
