The Bethlehem Hazardous Device Unit responded to a call concerning the discovery of what appeared to be sticks of dynamite.

Fire and emergency service crews reported to the 4400 block of Virginia Drive in Hanover Township, Northampton County around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The crews then called the Bethlehem Bomb Squad.

Three sticks labeled as TNT and wrapped together were found in an old sewing machine, Colonial Regional Police Chief Roy Seiple tells WFMZ.

Seiple said six to seven homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution.
