Mrs. Fixit: Stove Vent

Your stove vent serves as an important function - without it the grease and cooking smell ends up in your house on your furniture and on your walls.

First remove the vent from the hood and put it in the, sink, sprinkle the entire surface with some baking soda on both sides.

Plug the sink and let the vent sit for a few minutes, while you boil a pot of water.

Once the water has boiled, carefully pour it over the vent so that it is able to pool up and soak the vent.

The baking soda and boiling water are going to work together to get into all of the crevices on the vent and loosen the grease and debris to remove any odors.

Let the vent soak for an hour or so while the baking soda works its way into all of those nooks and crannies.

Rinse the vent well on both sides and let it dry completely before you return it to the stove hood. Now the vent will be able to work at it's full capacity. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
