Man collapses, given CPR at Delaware Marathon

WILMINGTON, Del. - May 12, 2013

Christina Care nurses who were staffing the medical tent at the finish line, immediately began to care for the patient.

Officials say, the patient quickly deteriorated before going into cardiac arrest.

The nurses then begin CPR and applied the defibrillator on the victim.

New Castle County paramedics were also stationed at the finish line and responded to the patient's side to assist.

According to officials, about three minutes after his collapse, the patient opened his eyes and began to respond.

He was taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
