DNA tests identify remains of NJ boy, missing for 41 years

BASS RIVER TWP., N.J. - May 14, 2013

Some human remains found by New Jersey State Police in Burlington County have been identified as those of 16-year-old Steven Soden.

Soden and a 12-year-old boy disappeared from a Paterson, N.J. orphanage back in April 1972.

An off-duty state trooper walking in Bass River State Park back in April 2000 found a piece of a sneaker and four human bones.

Those remains were finally matched to the missing teenager thanks to the work of a forensic anthropologist and the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification.

There is still no word how the boy died or why.
