Any active duty, active reserve, ready reserve service member or National Guardsman is entitled to free admission under the program. He or she need only register, either online at www.herosalute.com or in the entrance plaza of a participating park, and show a Department of Defense photo ID.

Beginning May 27th through September 2nd, 2013, more than 2,000 museums, art centers and exhibits across America will be offering up FREE admission to all active duty military personnel and their families as part of the Blue Star Museum Program. These include children's museums, fine art museums, history and science museums, and nature centers and you can see which museums are participating in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Even sweeter, there is no limit on the number of participating museums that you can visit over the summer.
