Driver freed in Northeast Philadelphia crash

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - June 9, 2013

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3900 block of Woodhaven Road just west of Knights Road.

Police say the car slammed into a utility pole trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters worked for over a half hour to free the victim who was then transported to Aria Health Torresdale for treatment.

Police tell Action News the driver was unlicensed and driving a friend's car.

So far there is no word yet on any charges as the investigation is continuing.
