Philadelphia asks for federal review of police-involved shootings

PHILADELPHIA - June 18, 2013

Four of the shootings were fatal. The local investigations continue.

But on Tuesday, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and his top aides went to Washington to meet with officials from the Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services at the Justice Department.

Commissioner Ramsey asked for an independent review of the Philadelphia shootings, and that could take 18 months.

Tuesday was the start.
