DA: Counselors called Pennsylvania mom before son's death

SCRANTON, Pa. - June 21, 2013

Police allege 32-year-old Robert Gensiak's body was covered with sores and he weighed just 69 pounds when he died in March. Fifty-nine-year-old Taylor resident Susan Gensiak and her two daughters were charged Wednesday with third-degree murder and other counts.

The Times-Tribune reports Assistant District Attorney Suzanne Tierney says phone records show the Scranton Counseling Center made numerous calls offering to help between 2009 and 2010, but were ignored. Court records allege the women said they had no transportation to get him to a doctor.

Investigators say the suspects were concerned about losing his government assistance. Court records do not list attorneys for them.
