Saving with 6abc: July 4th travel deals

June 25, 2013

Whether you're looking to stay close to home or travel to an exotic island, we have deals that are hard-to-beat. However, you have to book fast. Some offers expire as early as tomorrow!

"The summer months mean a lot of business travel slows down," says Gabe Saglie of TravelZoo. "People are off. In D.C. the politics slows down... so there's more availability and the hotels go on sale in a big way."

Saglie is the saving guru for Travelzoo, a free website dedicated to publishing the latest and greatest deals.

Today on Travelzoo, you can get 40% off the Doubletree near Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. for just $99 a night.

Head to New York City and stay at a sleek new Chinatown hotel for 50% off.

But you must remember, many hotels not only offer discounted rates but local perks as well.

"So you're looking at savings on your hotel stay and often time reduced prices and freebies on tourist attractions and landmarks that exist very close to the hotel you're staying in."

You can enjoy a historic hotel in Gettysburg for more than half off and get 2 movie tickets to use at the hotel's on-site theater.

If you're going to Disneyworld in Orlando, there's a resort deal you might not be able to beat: Just $59 a night and that includes daily breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids.

There are also ways to get discounted park tickets.

"Go online before you leave the house, the day before (and) often tickets are reduced a nice amount. You'll also get parking incentives as well through a lot of theme park websites."

Finally, jet off to an all-inclusive hotel in Jamaica for $699. That includes round-trip airfare to Montego Bay, four nights in an ocean view room, and all you can eat and drink.

Some of the deals require you to like TravelZoo on Facebook in order to get more information about the offers.
