17 arrested in Northeast Pennsylvania drug case

PLYMOUTH, Pa. - July 1, 2013

Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced the arrests on Monday as part of "Operation Shape Up."

Kane's office said the investigation began in November, 2012 with a focus on the alleged drug trafficking activities of John "Johnny Bambino" Miller of Plymouth, Luzerne County.

The attorney general's office said that, over the past eight months, Miller and his associates are believed to be responsible for trafficking at least 20 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2 million and at least 200 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $600,000.

According to the criminal complaint, one of Miller's main associates was identified as Ramon Colon, an employee at the Master Barbershop in Wilkes-Barre.

Colon allegedly used the barbershop as a hub for much of the organization's cocaine and marijuana trafficking operations, Kane's office said.

The charges state that lower level dealers contacted Colon to set up a drug transaction by asking if they could come to the barbershop for a "shape up."
