It happened around noon Sunday on the 2800 block of North 47th Streets.
Initial reports indicate that a car inside the two-story garage caught fire.
The garage is attached to a 19-story apartment building, which was evacuated while firefighters worked.
The flames were placed under control around 12:30 and no injuries were reported.
City Avenue was briefly blocked for fire crews to get to the scene but a normal traffic pattern has since resumed.
No word yet what sparked the fire.
