Funerals set for 7 killed in July 4th fire in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. - July 10, 2013

Fire officials say the blaze started in the kitchen of a three-story duplex in Lancaster at about 3 a.m. Thursday after frozen potatoes were left in the oven. The blaze killed the 64-year-old homeowner, Jimmie Moore, and six members of a family living there - including four children.

The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports Moore's funeral will be held Saturday.

A joint funeral will be held Tuesday for 51-year-old David Kuhns, 41-year-old Crystal Kuhns and their four children - 8-year-old Skyler, 6-year-old Shawn, 4-year-old Mickie and 2-year-old Cordail.

Investigators say 14 members of several families lived in the home, which did not have smoke detectors.
