CHESTER COUNTY
The Chester County Office of Aging Services has fans available for County residents age 60 and older, who qualify, to help cope with the excessive heat. Call 610-344-6350 for information.
The Rover Community Transportation will also help seniors who don't have air conditioning or other means to keep cool get to a cool location. To contact Rover transportation dispatch, call 484-696-3854 (after 5:30 p.m. press 3 to be connected to dispatch).
The recorded hotline for heat emergencies is 610-344-4141.
Several Chester County shelters will have extended hours during the heat wave:
Safe Harbor in West Chester - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as a cooling station until Friday, July 19th.
The Salvation Army (not a Shelter) in West Chester will be open until 6:00 p.m. as a cooling station, and will provide water to anyone that comes in until 6:00 p.m., all week.
Good Samaritan Shelter in Phoenixville will keep the shelter open all day for current residents.
Community, Youth, and Women's Alliance (CYWA) in Coatesville will allow residents to stay inside during the day, and will act as a cooling station for anyone else in the community all week (excluding those who are banned from the premises).

Mercer County aso offers designated Summer Cooling Sites including all municipal senior centers and the nine Mercer County Library System Branches. Please note that Senior Centers are only open Monday through Friday. Call individual locations for daily hours of operation. Library branches are closed on Sundays throughout the summer. These locations are as follows and are open to all residents:
The following Mercer County library branches are cooling sites: Ewing, Hickory Corner, Hightstown, Hollowbrook, Hopewell, Lawrence, Robbinsville, Twin Rivers and West Windsor.
The following municipal senior centers are cooling sites: Hamilton, Ewing, Hopewell Valley, Jennye Stubblefield, Lawrence Township, Monsignor Lipinski, Princeton Senior Resource Center, Reading, Sam Naples and Robbinsville Township.
For more information or to contact your local cooling site, please call the Mercer County Office on Aging at (877) 222-3737. In addition to making cool sites and home cooling appliances available, the County also offers a "Warmline" via the Office on Aging. During daytime hours, residents can call (609) 989-6661 or toll-free (877) 222-3737 for assistance in coping with the heat.
