Mold in leaky roof closes E. Pa. turnpike plaza

CHESTER, Pa. - July 29, 2013

The Peter J. Camiel Service Plaza is located off the turnpike's westbound lanes at mile marker 305, just inside the Chester County line in southeastern Pennsylvania. It's not clear how long the plaza will be closed.

A Sunoco gas station and attached convenience store at the same plaza remains open. But a food and gift area housing Roy Rogers and Sbarro restaurants and a Starbucks coffee outlet is closed, along with public restroom facilities. Turnpike officials planned to move portable toilets onto the plaza later Monday.

The plaza was scheduled for renovations in October. It was not immediately clear if that will be delayed by the leaks and mold.
