GPS helps track down stolen New Castle backhoe

ELKTON, MD. - August 5, 2013

The heavy machinery went missing from a construction site on Cox Neck Road in St. Georges, Delaware

The new John Deer backhoe belonged to Daisy Construction.

The company's owner Ed Conner says the equipment has a GPS that helped authorities track it to a wooded area in Elkton, Maryland.

"We called the John Deere dealer and they did the tracking for us and we found it and so then we called the police," Conner said.

Action News was there as police pulled the equipment from the mud.

The backhoes owner says it is valued at close to a $100,000.

Authorities continue to investigate.
