The fire was reported shortly after 10:15 p.m. inside a three story wood frame house along the 2600 block of Westfield Avenue. Arriving fire crews reported heavy fire coming from the home.
One person, described only as a man, jumped from the second floor. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
It took firefighters about twenty minutes to knock down the flames.
There is no word at this time on what may have sparked the blaze.
