Philadelphia police arrest Montgomery County bank robbery suspects

WEST PHILADELPHIA - August 12, 2013

At 2:00 p.m. Monday, Lower Merion police reported two males entered the TD Bank in Haverford and announced a robbery. One of the suspect displayed a handgun.

After taking an undetermined amount of money, the suspects fled the bank.

No one at the bank was hurt in the armed robbery.

Later it was determined that the suspects fled the area in a grey vehicle.

Philadelphia police located the suspects and the vehicle in the area of I-76 and Spring Garden Street.

Two suspects were arrested after a brief foot chase.

One male was apprehended on the 400 block of Napa Street.

The second was apprehended near the off-ramp of I-76 near Spring Garden Street.

The suspects and vehicle were turned over to the Lower Police Department for processing.

It is not known if the stolen money has yet been recovered.

Police were said to be searching for a possible third suspect, but have not released any more information.

The suspects have not been identified.
