Robbery suspects posing as water department workers caught on tape

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - August 26, 2013

The incident happened on August 22nd at 3:00 p.m. on the 400 block of West Sedgley Street in North Philadelphia.

Police say three males dressed in bright green t-shirts identified themselves as Philadelphia Water Department employees at the victims' home.

Once inside, police say the suspects handcuffed and the beat the residents.

A 54-year-old female suffered a head injury and a fractured orbital bone.

After searching the home for 25 minutes, the suspects fled east on Sedgley Street taking a television, cell phone and $250.

Police have released the following descriptions of the suspects:

Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 5'10, 30 to 40 years-of-age, 240-250 pounds, with a dark brown complexion. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt, orange/red baseball hat, jeans and armed with a handgun.

Police describe suspect #2 is described as black male, 5'8, and 180 pounds. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt, orange/red baseball hat and jeans.

Suspect #3 is described as a black male seen wearing a bright green t-shirt, orange/red baseball hat and jeans.

Authorities released surveillance video of the suspects on Monday.
