Man's best friend scares off would-be robbers in South Philadelphia

Police say a dog's barking scared off some would-be robbers in South Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 2600 block of South Mildred Street.

According to police, three or four masked men tried to break into a home but were scared off by the family dog.

They fled the scene and nothing was taken.

There were no reports of injuries and police are investigating.
