Philadelphia hotel helps 24 stranded exchange students

PHILADELPHIA - September 21, 2013

After nearly a month in America, their tour company suddenly folded, threatening their grand finale trip to Philadelphia.

The Inn at Penn learned about their plight and provided them with a place to stay for three nights at no charge.

The Inn at Penn welcomed the crew with an old-fashioned pizza party.

"We arrived here and everyone was so nice. We were really surprised that we were treated in such a nice way," said Michael Ratze, exchange student.

"We just looked at it like these kids went through a lot and we just wanted to show them the best of American hospitality and the best of our city," said Greg Stafford, general manager.

The Inn and Penn has also put together an itinerary for the travelers which includes trips to historic sites, museums and a Phillies game.
