Police say officers were called to Honeysuckle Drive in the Spring Mill area on Friday night just before 11 p.m. Officers found a 70-year-old man who had been accosted from behind by three men who attacked him.
The victim was admitted to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.
Officers and a canine team searched the neighborhood but did not find the suspects.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward with information. Police are also looking for any video surveillance that may have captured images of the attack.
