Saving with 6abc: Philly Mag Shops

October 2, 2013

"It's fashion and it's savings and it's everything that we love!" says Emily Goulet, the Lifestyle Editor for Philadelphia Magazine.

It's the first ever Philly Mag Shops -- and it's the brain child of Lifestyle editor Emily Goulet

"With my job," Goulet said, " I'm always shopping so, I wanted to give people that really super curated all-in-one place almost like your dream mall. So you really get to find all of the best boutiques without having to drive all over. "

Emily handpicked 30 independent designers and local shops, including Old City's The Geisha House.

"I'm going to have some really great labels there," says Cortney Cohen, owner of The Geisha Girl Boutique. "Things like you can wear immediately, good fall pieces, good basics."

Like high-waisted, leather embellished leggings.

"It just gives like that little edge but it's still like super-wearable," Cohen says.

In addition to clothes, Cortney is also bringing fall scarves, hats and accessories.

"A little bling is always a good thing," Cohen says.

Like a dainty double wrap bracelet designed by a Cherry Hill jewelry maker.

"There's going to be more pieces than this, too. Including necklaces and maybe some rings as well. "

Philly Mag Shops is one-day only: Sunday October 6th from noon to 4 at Olde Kensington's Crane Arts Building.

"A pop-up mall but we have hand-picked all of the places, so you're getting access to these amazing pieces at up to 40% off, which is pretty huge ," Goulet says.

It's $25 a ticket to get in, but if you buy 3 you get one at 50% off. It's all the more reason to grab your girlfriends and make a day of it.
