Person hit, killed by SEPTA train in Somerton

SOMERTON - October 3, 2013

The incident happened at 11:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Byberry Road.

There was no immediate word as to why the person was on the tracks.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed the SEPTA train stopped at the scene.

At first, a number of rescuers were near the scene. However, police are now there and a white sheet is covering the tracks.

SEPTA said the train involved was the inbound West Trenton Regional Rail Line.

It was on its way to the Forrest Hill station when it hit the person.

Service has resumed with delays of approximately 30 minutes in both directions.
