Toddler, adult injured in East Mount Airy fire

Fire officials are investigating a fire in East Mount Airy that sent two people, including a toddler, to the hospital.

It happened around 8:30 Saturday night on the 600 block of East Chelten Avenue.

Authorities say flames were showing upon arrival at the three-story home.

An 18-month old and a man in his 20s were both taken to Albert Einstein Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.

No word on what sparked the blaze.
