Man gets life in prison for Germantown bar shooting

GERMANTOWN - October 7, 2013

47-year-old Wayne James was found guilty of first degree murder and several other charges for the shooting at the Genesis Tavern on Wayne Avenue in 2011.

Surveillance cameras were rolling as James fired a dozen shots into the bar, killing 43-year-old Carl Sharper and injuring five others.

Prosecutors say James was upset after being thrown out of the bar earlier that night.

A judge immediately sentenced the 47-year-old to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
