Singer Austin Mahone hospitalized, postpones tour that included Electric Factory visit

Teen pop star Austin Mahone is hospitalized prompting him to postpone his tour, according to his mother.

Mahone, 17, was to headline the MTV Artist to Watch Tour at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on October 25th.

Austin's mother, Michele Mahone, posted the following on his website Thursday night:

"Hey Mahomies, its Austin's mom Michele Mahone. Austin is very ill. Unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the entire MTV Artist to Watch Tour Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out We feel very bad but we have no choice but to postpone the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #prayforAustin"

On Twitter Thursday, Austin's mother tweeted she never saw her son so sick.

"Hey Mahomies its @michelemahone Austin is very ill. Unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the entire MTV Artist to Watch Tour," Michele wrote on her son's Twitter page.

Michele went on to apologize to all the parents and fans who bought tickets.

"We feel very bad but we have no choice but to cancel the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #PrayforAustin," she wrote.

Around an hour later, a new tweet appeared changing the word 'cancel' to 'postpone.'

By Thursday night, #PrayforAustin was the top trend in Philadelphia, the United States, and worldwide.

Austin's mother posted the above photo of her son in the hospital on Instagram.
