Carole Crockett, 48, of Silver Lake Drive in Shamong, pleaded guilty Monday.
Investigators say she was driving with a blood alcohol level of .25 as she drove a school bus carrying two dozen Westampton Middle School students back in November, 2011.
The legal limit in New Jersey is .08.
Police say she nearly struck a jogger and a parked car. Furthermore, Crockett allegedly vomited in her handbag.
Some students were stuck at school because Crockett left before boarding was complete, investigators said, while other children got off at stops far from home, afraid to stay on the bus.
According to investigators several panicked students called home, afraid of Crockett's erratic driving.
Crockett was pulled over near Holly Hills Elementary School, where she had gone to pick up another load of students.
Crockett was employed by a private transportation company which was contracted by the district.
Sentencing is set for January.
