Northern NJ mall where shooting occurred reopens

PARAMUS, N.J. - November 6, 2013

The Garden State Plaza in Paramus was closed after the shooting Monday night, and remained shuttered Tuesday as investigators did a thorough search of the property.

The company that owns the mall is paying for the additional police presence Wednesday.

More than 200 people held a vigil for the gunman on Tuesday night.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli says 20-year-old Richard Shoop of Teaneck killed himself with the same weapon he used to fire the shots. Molinelli says Shoop left a note with his family suggesting he would harm himself.

No other injuries were reported.
