$50,000 reward in search for man who robbed postal carrier

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - November 7, 2013

The postal carrier was held up in broad daylight as he was delivering people's mail at the Oxford Village Apartment, located on the 6100 block of Oxford Avenue.

The postal carrier's mail truck sat along the roadway as postal inspectors combed through the neighborhood. They were looking for evidence and information that may help them to the person who mugged the mailman and ran off with his bag full of mail about 12:45 Thursday afternoon.

The postal carrier was not injured during robbery.

Inspectors say they are looking for a black male in his 20's who pulled a simulated weapon on the mail carrier. He's described as 6' to 6'1", 190 pounds with no facial hair, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Anyone with information is being asked to call postal inspectors at 1-877-876-2455.
