Mom with child in car crashed while DUI in Bryn Mawr, police say

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - November 13, 2013

Grace Tuten, 32, of the 1000 block of Clover Hill Road in Wynnewood, was charged with DUI, reckless driving and driving too fast for conditions.

Investigators say Tuten crashed her Volvo station wagon in the 700 block of Williamson Road in Bryn Mawr just after 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Police say her Volvo struck and sheared a utility pole, then crossed the road and hit a mailbox and large rock.

There were no serious injuries reported, but police say the 2-year-old was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The dogs, being carried in the cargo area of the Volvo, also escaped unharmed.

Police say a breath test revealed Tuten had a blood alcohol content of .28%, well over the legal limit of .08%.

Tuten's bail was set at $5,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is set for next week.
