The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. on the 1800 block of East Lehigh Avenue.
Fire crews arrived to heavy flames in the basement of a vacant house that quickly spread to the upper floors.
Officials say, families in neighboring homes were displaced and the Red Cross was called in to assist.
So far, no reports of injuries.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the blaze.
