It's something he has already done once before.
Army Major Glenn Batschinger heads to Djibouti, East Africa late Sunday night.
However he told Action News about Bilal Sharif.
The 7-year-old was born with his bladder outside of his body.
Batschinger worked for 15 months to secure the proper Visato bring Bilal to the states for surgery this week.
All his hard work paid off and the surgery was a success.
Batschinger got to visit Bilal at the hospital in New York on Friday.
"He was heavily sedated but from what I understand, his host mom said he knew where he was going when they began to drive to Long Island. Bilal jumped up in the car and was like a kid in the candy store, because he knew where he was going, to go get better," said Batschinger.
Action News first met Batschinger back in 2011 when he helped another boy with a similar birth defect.
