Police in Lower Merion Township have made two arrests in connection with a "Knockout Game"-style attack on a man who was out walking his dog.

The incident happened at 8:06 p.m. on October 29th at the intersection of Twin Oaks Drive and Rock Glen Drive in the township's Wynnewood section.

Police say the 63-year-old victim said he observed a male run by him, then a second male walking towards him. A moment later the victim was punched in the mouth, knocking him to the ground.

The victim started to yell for the police, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.

Officers were able to track down the two suspects who were positively identified by the victim as the men who assaulted him.

The suspects are identified as 19-year-old Samuel Hayles and 19-year-old Marcus January, both of the 1300 block of Kimberly Drive in Philadelphia.

Police say Hayles was identified as the one who threw the punch.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.

Investigators are also trying to determine if the incident in Lower Merion is connected to a similar attack that occurred in September 2013 in the area of Haverford Road and Surrey Lane in Overbrook. In that case, an elderly man was mowing his lawn when he was punched in the face by an unknown subject. The victim fell and suffered a leg injury.

Lower Merion Police are investigating.
