Man found dead in Northeast Philadelphia basement, brother charged

A man's body was found in the basement of a Northeast Philadelphia home and his brother is charged with murder.

The body of a man was found in the basement of a Northeast Philadelphia home and police have charged his brother with murder.

Officers were called to the house in the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue around 12:30 Sunday morning.

Inside they found the body of 36-year-old Arthur Figueiredo.

Authorities say he was wrapped in a sheet and packing material, lying on the basement floor.

Detectives took 34-year-old Paul Figueiredo, the victim's brother, into custody.

Police say blunt force trauma was the cause of death.

Authorities say the victim may have died days before he was found.
