Have eggnog already poured into glass mug and discuss how people are often unsure how to add a little kick to their eggnog for the holidays. For December's cocktail of the month, we recommend sprucing up your eggnog with either a splash of Southern Comfort, E&J Brandy or Evan Williams Bourbon. You can make whichever you prefer and then just garnish with cinnamon.
The Christmas Cookie
1 oz. peppermint schnapps
1 oz. Kahlua coffee liqueur
1 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. (Perhaps wet rim of martini glass and rim with red or green sugar sprinkles)
Auld Lang Syne
2 oz. Beefeater gin
1 oz. sloe gin
2 oz. apple juice
½ oz. lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup
2 oz. sparkling wine
Add the first five ingredients to a highball glass and stir. Fill the glass with ice and top with sparkling wine.
Gran Keer's Über Gingerbread Cookies
½ cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup molasses
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1-½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp allspice
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp clovers
½ tsp ginger
4-5 cups flour
Cream Cheese Filling
8 oz cream cheese
3 oz butter softened
2 cups of powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
Chocolate Truffles
16 oz. Good quality milk or dark chocolate
1 cup of heavy cream
3 oz of butter
Melt together
Blend
Chill until solid
Roll, dip, and eat
