It happened on Tansboro Road just off the White Horse Pike in Berlin around 4:00 a.m.
Police say the driver lost control of the car and struck a utility pole before the car flipped over. He was ejected onto the road.
The utility pole snapped into pieces and officials report downed wires.
The driver was rushed to Cooper Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Tansboro Road is expected to be shut down during the investigation and clean up.
