2 kids, 3 others injured in Toms River school bus crash

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - December 9, 2013

The accident happened just before 2:00 p.m. at Old Freehold Road and Imperato Court.

According to police, the bus was travelling southbound on Old Freehold Road when it rear-ended a 2004 Pontiac.

Of the 20 Toms River Intermediate North School students on the bus at the time of the accident, two were taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver and two passengers inside the Pontiac were also transported to Community Medical Center with minor injuries.

School district officials arranged transportation for the 18 uninjured students.

Old Freehold Road was closed for an hour between Chestnut Street and Walnut Street.
