Surveillance released in Kensington convenience store robbery

KENSINGTON - December 12, 2013

Surveillance video was released Thursday of the December 11th robbery at Carmen's Grocery in the 7600 block of East Alleghany Avenue around 9:50 p.m.

Once inside the store, one suspect held one of the employees at gunpoint while the second suspect went behind the counter and approached a second employee demanding money.

While behind the counter, the suspect opened the cash register taking an undetermined amount of money from the drawer.

After taking the money, both suspects fled and were last seen north on G Street from Allegheny Avenue.

Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, light complexion, 6'1", 20 years-of-age, thin, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black Chicago Bulls baseball hat with a red brim, yellow bandana, black track pants with white stripe on the side of legs, red and white gloves and armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male, olive complexion, goatee, 5'6"-5'8", medium build, 24 years-of-age, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and dark colored gloves.
